TriviaNYC Podcast #31: Picture Yourself, On A Train, In A Station Edition (From Montreal)
Live, from Montreal, during the morning rush at one of the hottest breakfast joints on the continent, it’s TriviaNYC On The Road!
This was our first attempt at a remote recording of the podcast, and frankly, it turned out better than I thought it would. Thanks to St. Viateur Bagels, who really are the best bagelmakers in the world, and who were also gracious enough to let us record the podcast from inside the store. The audio is workable, for sure, but I learned a lot from this, and next time we do a remote, it’ll sound better.
St. Viateur Bagels are available for delivery anywhere in North America, and the Mile End Restaurant in Brooklyn has a guy who drives a batch down every weekend. I don’t think I’m overstating how good they are. Check them out.
Also mentioned in this week’s Podcast:
- Oscar Peterson Plays Porgy and Bess: This album was a sensation in 1959 when it first came out, and if you’re not sure whether you like jazz or not, this collection of familiar low-key swing will play under your thoughts and slowly convince you that you can’t live without it.
- The Puzzler: Sandy Weisz’s column is always a few minutes of thought-provoking fun every day. I don’t know how he does it. My trivia rounds sometimes feel like blunt force trauma in comparison to his elegant little puzzles. I mean, sure, we’re not exactly swimming in the same end of the puzzle pool, but I’m always impressed with his work. He’s certainly worth adding to your RSS Feed.
That is all. Much love to you and yours, à bientôt, and hasta mañana!
